How do I raise money online

	Register your details then activate your online Famine profile. When you sign up you will be asked to enter a username and password so make sure you remember these!
	Personalise your online Famine profile. You can change the colour scheme and icons and even leave a message for your potential sponsors to read! Write a message that will help people to understand why you are doing the Famine. Look for inspiration from the Famine Hope Catalogue, and don't forget to challenge them to "Raise the Stakes".
	After activation, your online Famine profile will be located at a unique web address (www.famine.org.nz/[your user name]). Write this on the sponsor tags on page 23 of your Sponsor book.
	Copy your unique web address into an email and send it to your family and friends so they can go to your online Famine profile to sponsor you.
	If you talk to someone in person, and they cannot sponsor you on the spot, ask them to sponsor you online and simply give them a sponsor tag from page 23 of your Sponsor book.
	After you have done the Famine go back to your online Famine profile and confirm that you did the Famine by clicking the link under number 4 in the 'What to do?' section and completing the form. Your online Famine profile will then automatically send an email to everyone who made a pledge, reminding them to pay you. You can always send another reminder email yourself, or give them a text or phone call reminder.

Tips for promoting online

When you've activated your online Famine profile it's time to get sponsors!

Tips for getting sponsors:

• Send them an email with a link to your online Famine Profile
• Txt them
• Call them
• Tell them in person
• Give them a sponsor tag which you can download and print from the Famine website.

When someone goes to your online Famine profile in order to sponsor tell them to complete the "sponsor now" form.

People from overseas are able to sponsor you too. Their online transaction will be processed in New Zealand dollars (NZD) through the Famine website.
