If the 40 Hour Famine is on May 23-25, 2008, what should I do if I'm asked for a donation at other times?
Participants will mostly collect pledges through April/May and then collect the sponsors' pledged money through May/June. Participants may be late or early with their fundraising, but all Famine participants will have an official Famine sponsor book assigned to them and/or an online fundraising registration.

If you have any concerns please contact the World Vision office on 0800 FAMINE (326 463).

Who is the child featured on the 40 Hour Famine Poster and materials?
Miranda (6) is from Malawi, Africa. She represents the thousands of children in need in developing countries around the world. She also represents hope – money raised by New Zealanders through the 40 Hour Famine is helping many people like Miranda and her family.

What is an online fundraising page?
An online fundraising page allows participants to solicit and receive donations online. Sponsors only need the participant's email address to allocate their sponsorship from the donation form. The advantage of registering to fundraise online is that it allows non-cash carrying sponsors, and people who live far away, to sponsor someone using their credit card, saving both time and administration costs.
