This section is designed to help you  increase your understanding of  some of the issues that children in developing countries face every day. Extreme poverty is a global issue because:

  1. The issues that individuals face every day also affect their families, communities, countries, neighbouring countries and the rest of the world.
  2. Many of these issues are the same across all developing countries, for example: lack of access to food, education, clean water, healthcare.

Advocacy is essentially the process of raising awareness about an issue, pointing out gaps in response to it and encouraging changes to be made to fill these gaps.
