Student leadership course

Register

The World Vision Student Leadership Course is about providing project management skills to year 12 and 13 students in order to equip them for their future careers.
The Student Leadership Courses are run in various locations around the country at weekends throughout March 2009. Schools can send up to 3 student leaders ($40 per student) for one and a half days of practical training in Project Management, Leadership and Teamwork.

In addition to developing practical Project Management skills that equip students to coordinate a major event such as the 40 Hour Famine, students will gain...

  • An understanding of their potential to make a difference in their local and global communities
  • How to help people in their global community whose voices often go unheard
  • Increased awareness of poverty, injustice and development issues through interactive workshops (or simulation activities)
  • Confidence in communicating and leading others
  • Team building skills – a vital part of being a great leader

In essence, the 40 Hour Famine Student Leadership Course is positioned as a vehicle for developing key competencies in project management and leadership.
