If you run an event, here are some handy guidelines to help:
- Brainstorm fundraising event ideas with your Famine participants. Make a timeline and work to deadlines.
- Decide on the details of your fundraiser, including dates, location and what promotional materials you'll need.
- Seek permission – ask the right people if you can stage your event. Whether it's the council or other local authorities, it's really important to make sure you've got this covered.
- List your event in the events section of the Famine website so the public can find out more, or make a donation online.
- Delegate – work out what tasks need doing and who is the best person to do each of them.
- Contact your local World Vision Schools Relationship Co-ordinator for support
- Have a 'Plan B' – work out what will happen if, for example, the weather is raining for your outside event. You'll need to work out all the risks and decide on how you can minimise them happening.
- Get media coverage – contact the Famine team on 0800 FAMINE (326463) and we will forward information on your event to our Communications Team
Have fun as you work together with your participants to raise funds. You are helping make a huge difference for children in desperate need.
