What about participant's safety?
the safety of participants is paramount. If participants want to get sponsored by people in their neighbourhood, they must check with their parents or guardian first. We also recommend that one of their parents or guardians accompany them, or they go with a group of other participants.

Can participants choose what type of Famine they do?
Absolutely! Participants should be encouraged to get creative! Some examples include:
- The no-food Famine: the most popular Famine where participants go for 20 or up to 40 hours living on juice and barley sugars.
- Techno Famine: go without your phone, text messaging, computer, email, TV, stereo, PlayStation, etc.
- Theme Famine: live like a refugee in a cardboard shack and have only rice and water for sustenance.
- Sports Challenge: Do something challenging like a group 40 hour runathon or Weet-Bix Tryathlon. If you do a Famine involving sports make sure you eat properly and fuel up with Weet-Bix.

What do I do with the Sponsor Books and Famine Organiser book I've been given?
The Sponsor Books are for the participants from your school or group. Each individual that signs up should get their own Sponsor book so they can obtain sponsors.
The Famine Organiser book is for you and it contains your Organiser Record Sheet, consent forms and follow-up slips, which can all be photocopied.
Most of these documents can be downloaded on the Organiser resources page.

'Check how much your group's raised online' is available to Famine group and School Organisers and student leaders. This is in the School Organiser section of the website. This page contains a summary of all sponsorships raised online by the group through online Famine profiles and events posted in the Famine event calendar.

When and how do I bank the money?
By using the deposit book included in your Famine Organiser pack which is pre-encoded for your school or group. When you take money into the National Bank please fill in a deposit slip each time - we recommend you bank little and often. Each time you deposit money ask the teller to stamp the book. There are 10 deposit slips in the book, which should be enough for most groups. If you run out or lose them, contact the Famine team and we will send replacement slips.

Our school or group wants to continue to support World Vision after the Famine. What can we do?
We'd love you to take part in Famine 2010. However, your school or group can continue to support children in need throughout the world by sponsoring a child. If you would like to do this, contact your local World Vision Schools Relationship Co-ordinator.

Some of the participants are taking a long time to bring their money and books back. What should I do?
