The process of collecting funds raised for the Famine can be quite simple, especially if you follow some of these ideas provided by other Famine organisers:
- Ensure participants know where and when they can return their money and Sponsor Books
- Promote deadlines for people to work to, such as handing money in early so you can bank all the funds by 3 July
- Use incentives that your World Vision Schools Relationship Coordinator or local businesses have provided, to encourage people to return their money quickly or to thank those who have raised the most
- Advertise the total amount raised to date, whilst taking the opportunity to remind your participants to return their Sponsor Book
- Encourage participants to give you the money they have collected so far, before they follow up with the slow-to-respond sponsors. That way they are less likely to lose money
- Give follow-up slips book to those who haven't returned money or books by your deadline.
- Ask a supportive teacher/deputy principal to follow up really slow collectors
