We appreciate the dedication and effort that you and your participants put into making the 40 Hour Famine happen – it wouldn't happen without you. Here are some ways in which we show our appreciation and add incentives to help motivate participants.
School Awards

Certificates and plaques
Every participating group gets a Famine certificate.
We award gold, silver and bronze plaques to primary, intermediate and secondary schools, acknowledging outstanding contributions to the 40 Hour Famine.
Participant certificates
There are certificates that you can give to all your Famine participants. A photocopyable template for both the 20 and 40 Hour Famine is provided in your Organiser book.
Famine Star Award
This initiative is to help you encourage and reward participants who raise more and bank early - minimizing the chasing around you do after the Famine. It's easy to manage, you simply:
- Verify the amount raised by the participant (check the money they hand in with the amount written on the front of their sponsor book).
- Write it on the Organiser record sheet. Don't forget to note the total number of Famine Star Awards requested at the top of the sheet.
