Tips for Faminers

  • Although the famine is traditionally a food fast, we encourage you to be creative with the famine challenges and consider alternative ways of doing the famine, e.g.  split the 40 hours over a few days, or give up using a  mobile phone for 40 hours
  • If you’re taking part in the ‘no-food’ famine, we recommend keeping fluids up at all times to maintain hydration.  You can do this by drinking plenty of water and natural fruit juices, such as Just Juice and Just Juice Splash.  You might also want to include a glucose product at meal or snack times such as barley sugars.
  • We encourage you to do a famine that best suits you.  If you have any doubts about what’s appropriate for you, check with your parents/guardian.  If you have any medical conditions, you might want to check with your doctor.
