Being a Famine participant is about standing up for, and standing beside others in our global community who struggle every day - raising funds to help meet their needs, and having fun doing it!
- It raises funds to fight poverty, hunger and injustice by helping children in need
- It gives participants a global perspective and the opportunity to help others in their global community
- It's fun – crazy Famine events take place all over New Zealand in the lead up to, and over the Famine weekend in May!
- It promotes compassion by giving up something, for the sake of others in need
